Frankfurt am Main, 26 October 2026 – From 1 January 2027, Oliver Schulte will take on the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO), assuming responsibility for Quoniam’s operational platform, and – subject to regulatory approval – will join Quoniam’s Executive Board. In his new role, he will be responsible for the areas of finance, risk, compliance and investment operations. He will join Quoniam as early as 1 December 2026 to ensure a handover period before officially taking over from Silke Weiser-Walther.
Oliver Schulte has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services, asset management and payments sectors. Most recently, he was Managing Director and CEO of Pagateq, Deutsche Bank’s payments subsidiary. There, he was responsible for all business areas, including Operations, Technology, Compliance, Legal and Human Resources. Prior to that, he served as Managing Director of FIL Fondsbank (FFB), a subsidiary of Fidelity International, and, in his roles as COO, CFO and CRO, was responsible for areas including customer service, operations, technology and risk management. He also held various international leadership and transformation roles at Deutsche Bank.
“In Oliver Schulte, we are gaining an experienced leader with an impressive track record in transforming financial services companies, building high-performing operations and technology organisations, and managing complex regulatory requirements. His broad experience in asset management, banking and payments will be of great value to Quoniam as we consistently drive forward our strategic development and continue to grow,” explains Nigel Cresswell, CEO and Managing Partner of Quoniam.
Oliver Schulte adds: “Quoniam has established an outstanding position in the market thanks to its scientifically grounded investment approach and its innovative strength. I am very much looking forward to actively shaping the future of Quoniam together with all my colleagues, further developing the operational platform and continuing to strengthen the foundations for sustainable future growth.”
Continuity through a leadership transition planned well in advance
Silke Weiser-Walther will step down from the management board and leave the company on 31 December 2026. She has been with the company since Quoniam was founded 27 years ago and has played a key role in shaping its development over almost three decades, including 18 years as a member of the management board. Against the backdrop of Quoniam’s strategic development, Silke Weiser-Walther and the Supervisory Board have jointly decided to use this timing to facilitate an orderly and long-term planned transition. With the appointment of Oliver Schulte, the succession has been arranged well in advance and continuity in the company’s leadership is ensured. “Quoniam would like to thank Silke Weiser-Walther for her commitment, her significant contribution to the company’s development and her successful work over many years,” said Cresswell.
